The Cape Charles coffee houses are truly some of the best on the Eastern Shore, providing an ambiance that perfectly encapsulates the area’s slow morning beach vacation vibes. With plenty of rich roasts and strong, sweet, or specialty flavors, you cannot go wrong with any of these beloved coffee houses. As a treat, we have included two of Virginia’s best bakeries at the bottom of this list. Is there anything better than a morning coffee and pastry duo?
#1 Cape Charles Coffee House

#2 Peach Street Books

Introducing the most picture-perfect new bookstore and coffee house on the Eastern Shore: Peach Street Books! Not only do they serve specialty coffees, but they are also a fully stocked bookshop and just a 4-minute walk from the Inn. Peach Street Books offers a wide array of new and gently used covers, including beach reads, classics, YA, sci-fi, modern fiction, nature guides, historical nonfiction, and more. Swing by to pick up a warm or iced beverage and a good book…there’s really nothing better!
#3 The Almeta

The Almeta is a seasonal coffee house on Virginia’s Cape in Hotel Cape Charles. It offers specialty coffee and modern eats crafted from many local ingredients. This coffee house provides a unique look into the seasonal flavors of Cape Charles. The Almeta is a 5-minute walk from the Inn and only a 2-minute walk to the harbor!

There’s truly nothing better than a flakey, buttery, perfectly baked pastry to pair with your morning coffee or tea. We couldn’t help but recommend the Coastal Baking Co., whose handcrafted goods are second to none. This family-owned operation has mastered the art of early morning baking, signature items, and sweet southeastern charm.
Mason Ave Bakery

Another fantastic option for all of your baked goods needs is the Mason Avenue Bakery. They bake from scratch using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. It is a staple of our local community.
