Picture, if you will, your ideal vacation. Does it include seafood? Wine tasting? Sunsets over the sea? If you answered yes, then you’re in luck, because we have all of that and more right here in Cape Charles during Virginia’s Eastern Shore Wine & Brine month! I love this trail of wineries, restaurants, and bayside events, so keep reading for a few of my personal favorites aspects of November’s Wine & Brine activities and locales.
- Brew-n-Que (and Oysters Too!), September 23-24, 2016: Treat yourself to some of the best barbecue in Virginia and some of the best oysters on the East Coast, washing it all down with tasty craft beer. Top it all off with wing tasting, food and drink vendors, and live music, and you’ve got yourself one fun event!
- The Oyster Farm at Kings Creek: With a name like “The Oyster Farm,” you can bet that this local, Cape Charles restaurant has some farm-fresh seafood! Enjoy “water-to-table” and “farm-to-fork” seafood, steaks, vegetarian cuisine, cocktails, and craft beer, all accompanied by a marina view.
- Chatham Vineyards on Church Creek: Built on a working farm that dates back four centuries, Chatham Vineyards is an absolutely picturesque place to visit with an amazing selection of wines to taste. Whether you prefer Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, or all of the above, you’ll love the tastes and views at this vineyard.
- Bay Haven Inn of Cape Charles: That’s right, I put us on the list! We’re now on the Virginia Oyster Trail, so November is the perfect time to stop by for a night or two at the Inn and some area exploration. After all, we’re only a short drive away from the places listed above.
You can find a lot more info about this festive month on the Wine & Brine website and on their Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you here at the Bay Haven Inn of Cape Charles this November, so book your room now and get ready for a getaway that is equal parts excitement and relaxation.
