There’s still a bit of chill in the air, but spring is definitely on its way, and Cape Charles is ready to burst into warm-weather activities. Chase the morning chill away with a hot coffee from one of the top Cape Charles coffee houses.

Walking and driving aren’t the only way to enjoy springtime around Cape Charles, though! You can indulge in the sights and sounds of the Eastern Shore of Virginia by kayak, by golf cart, by horseback, or by bicycle. Keep reading to learn more:

1. Explore the shores by kayak: SouthEast Expeditions is a fantastic local kayak-rental company. Whether you’re a first-time kayaker, an intermediate paddler, or an experienced adventurer, there is definitely a kayak trip to suit you! Explore the Eastern Shore National Wildlife Refuge or take the Paddle Your Glass Off winery tour. This is the perfect way to get outdoors and welcome the warmer weather on the Eastern Shore. (For more information, check out the SouthEast Expedition beachfront kiosk or outpost in Cape Charles.)

2. Experience the town via golf cart: Cape Charles is known for its “cart life,” which is a phrase we owe to Chuckletown Productions. Your golf cart rental will take you from shops to restaurants to sunsets on the beach (as well as to and from Bay Haven Inn of Cape Charles!). Click here to read our blog about cart life in Cape Charles and learn a bit about our very own cart, Chessy Bay.

3. Enjoy the scenery by horseback: Saddle up with Pfeiffer Riding Stables for a trail ride through our Virginia woods, accompanied by King’s Creek and a variety of local furry critters. If you’d rather explore the inner streets of the town, hop into a horse-drawn carriage with Cape Charles Carriage Horses.

4. Peddle your way through the streets: Take in the warm bay weather while getting some exercise! Bicycling is a fun way to tour Cape Charles, and if you’re worried about having to drag along your own bike, no worries; we offer bicycle rentals right here in town. (Click here to check out some of the cycling routes around Cape Charles.)

We look forward to seeing you here at Bay Haven Inn of Cape Charles! Have you already ridden around Virginia’s Eastern Shore? We’d love to see photos! Feel free to share them on our Facebook page.)
